DSM Computer presents the scalable BookSize PC family With compact dimensions of 300 x 219 x 90 mm, DSM Computer's "B6", "B2" and "B1" of the new BookSize PC family, suitable for use in industrial environments made a convincing debut at SPS/IPC/DRIVES 2007. The IPCs in book format are used principally in thin-client applications, e.g. in POS/POI stations (operator terminals), in data networks or as quietly-operating office servers. In contrast to desktop PCs, they offer maximum reliability and operational security coupled with guaranteed long-term availability. The BookSize PCs based on Mini-ITX boards differ in processor power and the available interfaces. The palette ranges from the Intel® Core™ 2 Duo for high-end applications, includes the Intel® Pentium®/Celeron®, down to the VIA-C7 processor as low-cost variant. For the connection of peripheral devices, a wide range of interfaces specific for each module is supported: USB 2.0, LAN, VGA, audio, keyboard/mouse, PS/2, and serial and parallel interfaces. Customer-specific adaptations can be realized using the two interface adapter plates located on the rear panel. As standard, the BookSize PCs have a PCI slot. The most powerful model, the "B6", also supports PCI Express. Depending on the mainboard, a 3.5 or 2.5 inch SATA or IDE hard disk can be installed. As an alternative, two CompactFlash memory modules can be integrated. For the correct temperature in the computer, a regulated housing fan, and, depending on the CPU, an additional CPU fan, is provided. An integrated AC or 12 V (optional 24 V) DC power supply provides the power. If required, customer-specific adaptations can also be realized. Press Release as Word Document 2007-09-19-en.doc
