DSMP® Condition Monitoring software – new features in version 1.5

In most cases, industrial systems are installed in technical installations or located at difficult-to-access areas. The DSMP® Condition Monitoring software used only for ultra-reliable server applications in the past now allows the system availability of industrial computers to be increased significantly, because a predictive maintenance utilizing the continuous system monitoring is possible.

The continuous system monitoring with the current DSMP® Condition Monitoring software version 1.5 allows all DSM Computer AG industrial controllers to be permanently checked for precisely defined operating parameters, such as processor temperature, fan speed and hard disk condition. This allows possible malfunctions in the hardware or software to be detected early so that the service technician can initiate appropriate measures.

The current version of the DSMP® software now also allows other functions, such as the monitoring and the acquisition of relative core voltages for multi-core processors, to be controlled. In particular, users whose systems are designed for computing-intensive tasks are envisaged as target group for this product.

In addition to the extension in the hardware area, encrypted transmissions via https, namely, a secure access to a Web front-end, TLS-protected access to a Web service coupled with a stringent implementation of password protection and access restriction for specific IP addresses can now be installed or assigned.

Actual values, pointers and evaluation bars have also been updated using Ajax. The associated system status is visible in the navigation. System events appear automatically in the new version displayed on the main page. The new version of the DSMP® Condition Monitoring software also provides the capability to switch the user interface language to English.

To carry out any required service work, the service technician is provided with an experience history of the device. The resulting fast fault analysis avoids long machinery downtimes. This advantage makes itself apparent with the enormous cost saving of the systems during the running industrial operation.
