As a Microsoft® Embedded Partner, the DSM Computer GmbH is notified of the latest developments in the area of operating systems and can thus ensure the compatibility between the operating system and hardware. The Microsoft® Embedded OEM status also enables the long-term availability, for example, of Windows® XP Professional for Embedded Systems for our own products, or pre-activation of the operating system, when the numbers are suitable, for industrial applications.

Microsoft® Windows® 7
Reliable functioning and easy to operate and maintain – these are the demands placed on industrial PCs. "Windows® 7 Professional for Embedded Systems" contains a number of innovative functions and new technologies developed especially to satisfy these demands. In contrast to Windows® Vista™, which was not successful in industrial applications, "Windows® 7 Professional for Embedded Systems" also provides perfect control of the connected devices in addition to intuitive handling, improved performance, less memory requirement and a Windows® XP compatibility mode, and is therefore predestined for industrial use.
Microsoft® Windows® XP Professional
"Windows® XP Professional for Embedded Systems" is the industrial version of the classic XP Pro desktop operating system.
Because of the contract made with Microsoft® as Embedded OEM Partner, the DSM Computer GmbH is available to supply the Windows® XP Professional software beyond 2010 up to at least 2016. Delivery is exclusively with the industrial controllers of the DSM Computer GmbH. DSM can also create recovery disks for their industrial systems.
Linux™
Linux™ is an operating system for a lot of requirements. A worldwide design engineers- and user‘s association provides a lot of other software and documentations about Linux™ which have expanded the application possibilities. There comes that manufacturers proprietary of software recognize increasingly a market with Linux™ to users and offer increasingly programs for Linux™.
Linux™ had incorporated right from the start to the GPL, the General Public License. This license guarantees the free access to the source code of the Linux™ of operating system for every user. Design engineers see into all source codes and can thereby integrate very simply new functions and also find program failures quickly and eliminate them.
The areas of application of Linux™ are varied and include, among others, the use on desktops, servers, mobile phones, routers, multimedia-final devices and supercomputers.
