DSM presents a high-performance rail-mounted PC: power for the electrical-equipment cabinet

DSM Computer has extended its compact H1-A rail-mounted PC family with a higher performance variant that incorporates an energy-saving Intel® Atom™ processor Z530 (1.6 GHz). The standardized installation capabilities allow the computer that is 90 mm high and only 41 mm (55 mm with cooling fins) deep to be installed very quickly in electrical-equipment or switchgear cabinets. With a width of 122 mm (7 U), the IPC – in a robust, high-quality aluminum housing – can be installed under the rail-mounting standard cover.

In addition to the processor, the Qseven™ module of MSC Vertriebs GmbH installed in the H1-A integrates a 1 GB DDR2 RAM and an Intel® US15W SCH System Controller Hub with integrated Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator GMA 500. A 3.6 GB flash memory permits the implementation of embedded operating systems, such as Windows® POSReady, Windows® Embedded Standard and Linux, as well as the storage of user data. The Qseven® module is equipped with a TPM (Trusted Platform Module) for protection against unauthorized external access. To achieve an optimum heat dissipation, the small 70 x 70 mm embedded module is directly connected with the computer housing.

The rail-mounted computer provides two fast 1000 Base-T LAN connections, two USB 2.0 ports and a serial RS232 connection. If required, a second RS232 can be implemented instead of the existing VGA interface. Like the 24 V DC power supply, the two RS485 ports are equipped with a plug connector with an insulation-piercing connection and are metallically separated to compensate for potential differences. The VGA interface can be used to connect a control monitor for commissioning and for maintenance purposes. The user data can be saved on the onboard flash memory or on an SD card.

Designed for the reliable continuous operation, the robust rail-mounted PC family can be deployed as gateway and communications computer, Web server or distributed control unit in the process automation, plant control, power engineering, building automation, smart metering, electro-mobility and cloud computing application areas.

Powerful 19-inch industrial computer with PICMG 1.3 slot CPU and Intel® QM57 chipset

DSM Computer has added three powerful variants to its 19-inch Infinity® computer family, based on DSM‘s new PICMG 1.3 industry slot CPU 96M4371o. The compact plugin card incorporates an Intel® Core™ processor and the energy-saving Intel® QM57 mobile chipset. The robust 4 U and 2 U industrial PCs are housed in a solid, high-quality rack and lend themselves to being fitted in 19-inch cabinets.

The 4 U 96M1574 and 96M15801 Infinity® systems come with 12 free slots. The 510 mm deep model 96M1574 is designed for eight long and six short plugin cards, the 96M15801 system has a depth of only 455 mm. In total the 19-inch IPCs offer four 5.25-inch drive bays and a 3.5-inch bay. A SATA removable frame, for example for three drives, can be incorporated upon request. The drive cage is vibration protected. The slot CPU incorporates a controller for connecting four SATA II 300 devices with RAID 0, 1, 0+1 and 5 support.

The Infinity® computer 96M1584E has a height of 2 U. Its six free slots are designed for up to three long and two short cards. A 3.5-inch bay is available in addition to a 5.25-inch drive bay.

An internal mini PCI Express™ slot is available for expanding the industrial PCs. In accordance with the PICMG 1.3 standard, a number of PCI Express™ x16, PCI Express™ x1 and PCI-interfaces are available depending on the model in question.

The heart of the modular 19-inch computers is the industrial slot CPU 96M4371o based on the Intel® QM57 mobile chipset. The compact plugin card can for example be fitted with a 2.66 GHz Intel® Core™ i7-620M processor. The processor features two CPU cores and 4 MB cache. The powerful slot CPU offers two DIMM slots for fast DDR 1066/800 memory modules. Both the on-board LAN Controllers Intel® 82577LM and Intel® L82583V support 10/100/1000 Base-T/TX and Intel® AMT 6.0 for remote maintenance.

Upon request, all three Infinity® industrial computers can be delivered with DC power supply unit (12V / 24V / 48V). One or more fans for cooling the IPCs are accommodated behind a replaceable dust filter. Operating costs, especially in 24/7 operation, are optimised thanks to the mobile platforms' low power consumption.

Slot CPU with Intel® Q67 chipset for second generation Intel® Core™ processors

DSM Computer is expanding its broad portfolio of slot CPUs in the upper performance class with the 96M4361o PICMG 1.3 industrial SBC. The plug-in unit, making its debut appearance at the SPS/IPC/DRIVES in Hall 7, Stand 150, incorporates the powerful Intel® Q67 chip set designed for second generation Intel® Core™ processors.

The high-end version of the 96M4361o plugin card can be featured with the powerful Intel® Core™ i7-2600 (3.4 GHz) incorporating four cores and 8 MB Cache. The industrial SBC can also be equipped with the high-performance Intel® Core™ i5-2400 (3.1 GHz, 6 MB Cache) with four CPU cores or Intel® Core™ i3-2120 (two cores, 3.3 GHz, 3 MB Cache) processors. The budget version is available with an Intel® Pentium® G850 processor and two kernels and 3 MB Cache. The Intel® HD 3000 (i7 CPU) or HD 2000 (i5, i3) graphics functionality is integrated within the processor and offers a high processing speed. The slot CPU comes with two DIMM slots for DDR3 1333/1066 memory modules, with a total maximum capacity of 8GB.

In accordance with the PICMG standard, the slot CPU features 4 x PCI, 1 x PCI Express™ x16 und 4 x PCI Express™ x1 or 1 x PCI Express™ x4 bus interfaces. There is an internal DVI-D and 24 bit dual channel LVDS for graphics integration. There are two fast Dual GigaBit LAN interfaces for 10/100/1000 Base-T/TX support located directly on the I/O front slot cover. The SATA interface is designed for connecting two SATA III 600 and two SATA II 300 drives. It is also possible to connect two more SATA II drives via the bus board. Support for RAID 0, 1, 0+1, 5 is configurable for all connectors. In addition to numerous parallel and serial interfaces, 14 USB 2.0 Ports, 4 x GPI, 4 x GPO and HD Audio are offered as well.

The 96M4361o Single Board Computer can quickly be expanded by means of a Mini PCI Express™ x1 slot. The plugin card measures 338 x 126 mm. The System Hardware Monitor for monitoring the power supply, fan and temperature ensures reliable operation in a temperature range from 0 to 60 °C (with active cooling).

DSM Computer unveils extremely powerful, Intel® Q67-based ATX industrial computer

DSMs Infinity® 96M1594-ATXQ67 19-inch industrial computer, making its first appearance at SPS/IPC/DRIVES in Hall 7, Booth 150, is based on an industrial ATX motherboard with Intel® Q67 chipset. A second generation Intel® Core™ processor with four or two cores ensures optimal performance and numerous additional functions combined with low power consumption.

In addition to the model featuring an Intel® Core™ i3-2120 processor (3.3 GHz, 3 MB cache), with two integrated cores, even more powerful systems with Intel® Core™ i7-2600 (3.4 GHz, 8 MB cache) are available as an option. Both these powerful processors feature four cores. A budget version with Intel® Pentium® G850 with two cores and 3MB cache is also available as an option.

Graphics integration is optimal because the second generation Intel® Core™ processors put the graphics functionality directly on the die, delivering significantly enhanced performance. In the case of the new Intel® HD 2000 and HD 3000 GPUs, each processing unit boasts twice the processing speed of its predecessors. Thanks to implementation of Intel® Active Management technology iAMT 7, the high end computer can be remotely booted and maintained. The main memory can be expanded up to a capacity of 32 GB by means of four DIMM slots.

In common with the robust IPC, the industrial ATX motherboard employed in the Infinity® 96M1594-ATXQ67 is manufactured in Germany and is characterised by high build quality and high reliability. The professional motherboard comes with high quality, long-life series electrolytic capacitors boasting an especially long service life, specified for at least 105 °C. This enables sustained operation of the motherboard at an ambient temperature of 60 °C.

Seven slots in all are available for system expansions: a PCI Express™ x8 (one lane), a PCI Express™ 2.0 x16, a PCI Express™ 2.0 x16 (four lanes) and four PCI-slots. The Infinity®-computer offers four 5.25-inch drive bays and a 3.5-inch bay. A SATA removable frame can be supplied upon request, e.g. for three drives, three in two (occupies 2 x 5.25-inch bays). All drives and controls are protected behind a lockable metal door.

The high performance, 19-inch industrial computer offers a selection of standard interfaces, including twelve external and two internal USB 2.0 ports, dual GigaBit LAN, 2 x PS/2, 2 x COM, Audio, DVI-I and display port. There are also SATA interfaces for four 3 GBit/s SATA II 300 drives supporting RAID 0, 1, 5, 1+0 and for two 6 GBit/s SATA III 600 drives.

The Infinity® 96M1594-ATXQ67 is housed in a solid, high-quality rack for fitting in 19-inch cabinets or as a desktop system designed for the harsh industrial environment. The front can be supplied in a customer-specific colour upon request, with company logo if so desired. The numerous boot capabilities Recovery BIOS, Quick Boot, Logo Boot and Quiet Boot are an additional important feature of the AMI BIOS implementation.
