Here are some examples:

Advertising at gas pumps

The sunlight-readable ABLE 38 cm (15") display in stainless steel housing with a brightness of 1800 cd/m2 is optimized for outdoor use. Video and audio data is transmitted from the remotely situated control computer using a conventional network cable (Cat5).

Features such as safety class IP65, automatic brightness adjustment, shatterproof glass screen, sun filter, venting, heating and a heat exchange system for climate control are particularly important in this application.
The system is used at gas pumps for advertising purposes.

External museum displays

The sunlight-readable 48 cm (19") TFT display with LED backlight was specifically developed for museums. The robust and elegantly designed stainless steel housing complies with safety class IP65. With an integrated industrial PC, intelligent heating and cooling and an emergency power supply, the display system is perfectly designed for the application. The display brightness of 1500 cd/m2 and a sun protector for the prevention of overheating when switched off ensure operation in direct sunlight.
The display system is implemented in a Berlin museum, where it operates in summer as in winter.

Customized 19" data acquisition system

This high-end server is conceptualized for various applications in the field of measuring engineering for signal processing and the evaluation of signal reproduction and storage.

The main feature of this system is the extremely large volume of incoming data, which is recorded, stored and archived for subsequent evaluation.

The attached 3 U rack contains signal interface modules for the signal acquisition of the measured values. The previously recorded data is evaluated and stored in the lower 2 U industrial computer. The 3" TFT is used for the visualization and operation of the data recording. Customer-specific programmable keys are available on the front of the case. If required, a keyboard and a display can be connected externally to the measuring system. Four RAID-capable and exchangeable hard disk drives are installed in the rack unit for the recording of the signal data. The 2 U system is contained completely in a solid, heavy-duty case developed specifically for the customer.

Customized NanoServer®

A ski binding is the most important safety criterion for a downhill skier. It does not rigidly fix the ski boot, but instead ensures that there is fixed connection until a certain limit is exceeded. A customized embedded system has been developed for this purpose with compact dimensions and for special requirements with regard to shock and vibration. The embedded system is used to set and measure certain parameter values such as age, weight, body size, skiing ability and the length of the skier's sole, which can be individually transferred to the ski binding. Thanks to the appropriate setting and the corresponding maximum load, the binding releases at the correct moment thus preventing the skier being injured during a fall.

Customized Embedded Box PC

The robust Box PC has been specially developed for the acquisition of measured values, control and monitoring of radio networks and systems. The measuring cards contained in the embedded system enable the measuring of the current mobile radio networks, such as GSM/GPRS, EGPRS, WCDMA, UMA/GAN, GDMA 2000, LTE, etc. The device checks the measured values of the systems and adjusts them accordingly. This process runs fully automatically and is more precise than what could be performed manually. The recorded measured values are transmitted via WLAN and with multimedia capability to the technicians for logging and data archiving.
Further customer-specific demands with regard to the optics and design were implemented by DSM within the customer specifications for the project.
