DSM Computer presents its new flat 1 U (rack unit) industry PC
The 96M15831 1 U industry computer, newly developed by DSM Computer for its Infinity family, has a height of just 44 mm. Despite its small construction height, with a width of 440 mm and depth of 432 mm the computer provides a range of technical variants that can be configured by the customer in accordance with their requirements. The 19-inch system is predominantly for use in automation, robotics and measurement technology, in which small construction height is needed.
Even with the 1 U construction height there is still space for two 3.5-inch disk drives, one externally accessible disk drive for a slim-line floppy disk and one disk drive located in the housing. In addition, there is a 5.25-inch disk drive, which can for example be used for a CD/DVD drive. In addition to the slot for the PICMG processor card there is another free PCI slot and a free ISA slot available. Alternatively, there is a version with two (without ISA) free PCI slots.
The integrated 82562ET Intel controller supports the 10/100 base T/TX system LAN connection. There is also one serial and two parallel interfaces and a connection for an EIDE brand hard disk (from 20 GB).
The core of the industry computer is an Intel® Celeron® processor with clock frequencies from 1.3 GHz or alternatively a Pentium® M with up to 2.0 GHz. Standard memory is a 256 MB DDR RAM, which can be extended up to a capacity of 2 GB. The Intel 855GME chipset with 64 MB shared memory ensures outstanding graphics capabilities.
Ventilation of the computer system is done by three 40 mm fans, of which two are located on the front and one on the back of the housing. Suitable for harsh industrial environments, the IPC is equipped with a high-performance 350 W power supply.
The 96M15831 is supplied with or without installation bracket for easy installation into a 19-inch cabinet or as a desktop system. The housing front can be lacquered according to customer preference in all RAL and NSC colors. Prior to delivery, the long-term available 1 U industry system is subjected to a 48-hour burn-in and is CE certified.
