From the Intel® Atom™ through to the Core™ 2 Duo, DSM Computer extends its product portfolio with three SBCs in the 3.5-inch form factor

DSM Computer AG extends its product range in the Single Board Computer area with three additional 3.5" SBCs.

The first product from this series, the embedded SBC, has an ultra-power-saving 1.6 GHz Intel® Atom™ processor of the N270 series with a heat loss of just 2.5 watts that also permits fan-free applications. The main memory can be expanded to a maximum size of 1 GB. The Intel® Atom™ processor on this board is combined with an Intel® 945GSE Northbridge and the ICH7M Southbridge. The Intel® 945GSE is optimized for the interaction with the N270 processor and provides a significantly higher graphic power than the two-chip solution of the Intel® Atom™ Z510 processor with the US 15W chipset.

The 3.5" SBC offers many interfaces that permit a wide field of application. In particular, the board has up to four USB 2.0 ports, an SATA II and an IDE interface, two serial COM interfaces and two integrated Intel® 82574L LAN controllers that permit a high-speed GigaBit LAN connection.

Further features are a 12 V DC power supply, an integrated Intel® High Definition Audio controller, and four digital inputs and outputs.

For applications that require only low CPU performance, the 3.5" single board computer is equipped with the power-saving AMD® Geode™ LX800@0.9W with 500 MHz (LX800) clock speed.
The 2D graphic controller LX800 integrated in the AMD® CS5536 chipset is adequate for many applications in the industrial environment.

The embedded SBC offers a Dual Realtek RTL8100C-LF Ethernet controller (10/100 Base T/TX), a PCI/104 extension slot, four USB 2.0 ports and four COM interfaces. A hardware monitor supervises the voltage and temperature values.

The 3.5" SBC is well-suited for applications that place higher demands on the CPU performance.

The performance-scalable SBC can be equipped either with an Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Mobile or an Intel® Core™ Duo / Solo Mobile processor. The main memory that can be expanded to a maximum of 2 GB provides sufficient memory for most embedded applications.

The single board computer is based on the Intel® 945GME and ICH7-M chipset. The integrated Intel® Graphic Media Accelerator 950 VGA with a maximum resolution of 1600 x 1200 guarantees high graphic performance.

The board also offers a wide range of interfaces, such as an internal DVI connection, VGA, four USB 2.0 ports, two SATA interfaces and an Intel® 82573L GigaBit Ethernet LAN controller for fast network communication. The Embedded SBC is also equipped with a mini-PCI slot and an internal Compact Flash socket. A system hardware monitor also supervises the voltage and temperature values of the CPU board.

The 3.5"-form-factor embedded boards are ideal for applications in the industrial automation area, for POS/POI applications, in measuring technology, in control systems and for mobile Internet access.

The small-sized SBCs with guaranteed long-term availability are designed for operational temperature ranges from 0° C to 60° C and operate with extreme reliability even at high temperatures and so can be used in very many application areas.
