DSM Computer expands its E1 NanoServer range with the C7 version The 96M1542F NanoServer from DSM Computer’s E1 range was conceptualized to be available either as a simple controller unit or as a measured value and communications server. The embedded system, implemented for tough industrial environments, has a C7 VIA processor C7, which functions without a fan at a maximum clock frequency of 1.0 GHz. The main memory can be extended with 533 MHz DDR2 RAM up to a capacity of 1 GB. The VIA 2D/3D VGA controller with MPEG2 decoder, which is integrated in the VIA CN700 chipset, provides S-Video and TV-out connections as well as a 64 MB shared memory. An onboard HDTV encoder ensures excellent display quality of multimedia links. The desired audio functions are provided by a VIA audio controller (VT1618 AC'97 Codec). The RCA port can be switched from TV-out to SPDIF. In terms of PC interfaces, there are six (optionally eight) USB 2.0 ports, two PS/2 ports and one serial port. If required, a parallel interface can be supplied. The integrated VIA VT6103 component provides the possibility of a 10/100 base TX single LAN connection. There is space inside the 220 x 220 x 110 mm housing of the E1 NanoServers for a 2.5-inch hard drive, EIDE or SATA 150. It is also possible to connect a floppy externally via the USB 2.0 port. A slimline DVD CD-ROM drive or a Compact Flash can also be connected if required. In order to provide the user with the greatest possible flexibility, the 96M1542F has an empty expansion slot for short PCI cards. Optionally, two interfaces for customer-specific expansion cards can be realized. The solid, high-quality industrial housing is available upon customer request in all RAL and NSC colors. Assembly rails and a 4 cm system fan are included when delivered. The standard power supply to the embedded PC is via an external power supply with 100 to 240 VAC or directly via 12 V direct current (60 W). DSM Computer provides a one-year guarantee for the CE-certified embedded system. Prior to delivery, the NanoServer undergoes a 48-hour burn-in process for quality assurance purposes.
