DSM Computer enlarges its industry PC portfolio with a 3 rack-unit version
DSM Computer conceptualized its newest 96M1593 Infinity industrial computer in the 3 rack-unit design especially for applications requiring compact installation. The low installation height of 133.36 mm is achieved by placing the CPU next to the cards behind the fan. The depth of 462 mm from the front panel simplifies installation of the 19-inch IPCs into cabinets as are commonly used in production.
The industry computer suitable for use in automation, telecommunications or as a data server can accommodate up to six long PCI cards for rapid data transfer. In addition, the system is also equipped with an AGP slot in order to handle increased graphics requirements. Two 5.25-inch slots for CD, DVD or CD-RW drives and a 3.5-inch drive slot for a hard disk drive are accessible from the front.
A multi I/O chip on the ATX motherboard ensures a wide selection of interfaces. In addition to COM1/COM2 interfaces (RS-232 or RS-422/285), there are six USB 2.0 ports. An IrDA interface, a floppy interface and an SPP/EPP/ECP interface complete the extensive range. A 10/100 Base TX Ethernet connection can be configured via the RJ46 port with the integrated Intel 82562ET module. This function can be switched on and off as necessary.
The computing power of the 96M1593 system is scalable. Depending on requirements, an Intel Pentium® 4 Mobile (2.4 GHz) processor or a Pentium® 4 or Celeron® with a maximum clock frequency of 3.06 GHz is utilized. The industrial motherboard is equipped with an Intel 845GV chip set with integrated graphics controller, which supports a system bus of 400 or 533 MHz. Two DDR-00/266-SDRAMs that are plugged into 184 pin DIMM sockets form the main memory with a maximum memory capacity of 2 GB.
The industry PC is equipped with a 300 W power supply. Optimal cooling is ensured due to intelligent temperature management and two 80 mm fans. The air filters are changeable from the front. The 96M1593 is protected against contact and foreign bodies in accordance with the IP20 protection class.
