DSM Computer presents new PICMG 1.0 compatible slot-CPU card with Intel 915GM The 96M4220o industry slot CPU card presented at the SPS/IPC/Drives 2005 trade fair by DSM Computer is compatible with the PICMG 1.0PCI-ISA passive backplane standard. The module has a 16-bit ISA interface and a 32-bit PCI bus interface and uses PCI express technology onboard for a better connection to Gbit LAN. The board is equipped with Intel Pentium® M or Celeron® M processors with a clock frequency of up to 2.26 GHz and thus provides especially low power dissipation. The main memory can be extended by up to a maximum of 2 GB RAM. Two SO DIMM slots are envisaged for this, which can optionally take 256, 512 or 1024 MB DDR2 RAM modules. The integrated mobile Intel 915GM express chip set with GMA 900 graphics media accelerator ensures an excellent 3D graphics performance. It is possible to view different screen content on two monitors from one computer via CRT and LVDS (dual view). A fast network connection is realized by an internal Dual GigaBit Intel LAN Ethernet controller, which supports 10 Base T / 100 Base TX / 1000 Base T full duplex transfer via two RJ45 ports. The onboard connection to PCI Express means that full performance can be utilized, which would not be the case with a connection to the PCI bus. Memory media are connected via the serial ATA interface, which is designed for four SATA 150 drives and via the IDE interface for two enhanced IDE drives. An FDD controller controls two floppy disk drives with 360 KB, 720 KB, 1.44 MB, 1.2 MB or 2.88 MB memory capacity. In addition, there is a Compact Flash socket on the back of the module. In terms of interfaces, there are two serial outputs and a Centronics compatible parallel interface in addition to four (or optionally eight) USB 2.0 ports. An IrDA interface and a keyboard/mouse connection complete the range. There is a watchdog timer on the 338 x 122 mm large 96M4220o board, which can be set in time slots of 1 to 255 seconds or minutes. A real-time clock and a calendar with battery backup complete the functionality of the slot-CPU. An energy saving mode can be activated via the BIOS. Press Release as Word Document 2005-11-28-en.doc
