Proven Slot CPU in accordance with PICMG 1.0 with Quad Core and Intel® Q45 chipset DSM Computer has now equipped its proven industrial Slot CPU that conforms to the PICMG 1.0 Standard with the ultra-high-performance Intel® Core™ 2 Quad Core Q9400 quad processor and the Intel® Q45/ICH10DO chipset. This allows the innovative processor technology with its modern high-performance chipset to be used in existing industrial systems. With this new Slot CPU, DSM once again proves the product continuity and the long availability of its modules and systems required by many customers. The "96M4290" Slot CPU presented for the first time at the SPS/IPC/DRIVES 2009 integrates the high-end Intel® Core™ 2 Q9400 quad processor that runs with a 2.66 GHz clock rate. The four cores can use a 1333/1066/800 MHz front-side bus to access extremely fast a maximum of four DDR3 module-equipped main memory with a total maximum capacity of 8 GB. The computing power of the Slot CPU that can be scaled as required by the application is available with the Intel® Core™ 2 Duo, Intel® Pentium® Dual Core or Intel® Celeron® Dual Core processors. A broad range of interfaces supports the versatile application possibilities of the "96M4290" plug-in card that uses the PIGMG 1.0 standard (16-bit ISA / 32-bit PCI). In addition to numerous parallel and serial interfaces, six USB 2.0 ports, GigaBit Ethernet, Audio, GPIO, IrDA, IDE and 6 x SATA II are provided. The Slot CPU supports RAID operation. The Intel® Graphic Media Accelerator 4500 integrated in the chipset provides a maximum resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels (VGA) and supports the internal DVI interface. Support for Direct X10 and OpenGL 2.1 is provided. The Intel® Dynamic Video Memory technology allows flexible configuration of the dynamic system memory. The full length (338 x 122 mm) plug-in card developed by DSM offers an energy-saving mode that can be set by BIOS. The system hardware monitor that supervises not only the voltage and temperature values but also the correct function of the fan, ensures the fault-free function of the module specified to operate in the 0° to 60° C temperature range.
