DSM Computer has already delivered the first industrial PCs with Microsoft® Windows® 7
Simultaneously with the official release of "Windows® 7 Professional for Embedded Systems" by Microsoft®, DSM Computer AG already presented its first industrial computers that run on Windows® 7. DSM Computer, as Embedded OEM partner of Microsoft®, already had early access to the new operating system and long before the official market introduction could extensively test its robust industrial systems under Windows® 7.
The first DSM industrial computer that runs on Windows® 7 is a high-performance Panel PC from the P4 Infinity® family with two free slots. Other products with Windows® 7 are being prepared.
"Windows® 7 Professional for Embedded Systems" contains a number of innovative technologies and new functions provided to allow the simple, reliable operation and maintenance of industrial systems. Primary importance was placed on a higher performance compared with the previous versions, for example, an improved memory management when several applications run concurrently and for multicore applications. Thanks to the support for different power state modes, a significant energy saving was achieved. Special security functions increase the security of the system, such as the Bitlock Support that prevents impermissible access to USB sticks. Furthermore, the new operating system offers a central device management and, in the WIN XP compatibility mode, the possibility to run existing XP applications under Windows® 7.
