High-performance and energy efficiency – DSM presents new NanoServer® models
To satisfy the changed requirements prevailing in the embedded market, DSM Computer has redefined its high-performance NanoServer® E4 family with a PCI or optional PCI Express™ slot. The two presented variants, the NanoServer® E4-GM45 and E4-A, can be used in the plant control and metrology, as monitoring and identification system and as control computer for POS/POI systems. The changed housing concept provides a maintenance-friendly base cover and offers a large selection of interfaces.
DSM Computer's NanoServer® E4-GM45 is characterized with its maximum computing performance and highest graphical performance. An Intel® Core™ 2 Duo processor (e.g. T9400) with up to 1066 MHz FSB forms the heart of the compact industrial computer. The Intel® GM45 chipset integrates the ultra-high performance Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator GMA 4500MHD with Intel® Clear Video technology that also supports DirectX10 and OpenGL 2.0. Thanks to its video decoding capability, the graphic controller can decode high-resolution HD videos in the AVC/VC2/MPEG2 format and so remove load from the processor. The video memory with a maximum size of 1 GB is used as shared memory. Two displays with a maximum resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels can be controlled in Dual Independent Display Mode.
The fanless NanoServer® E4-A based on the energy-saving Intel® Atom™ N270 processor provides sufficient computing power to fully satisfy the demands of most digital signage tasks, for example, visitor welcoming and registration systems. An Intel® 945GSE chipset with Intel® GMA 950 VGA graphic controller is provided as chipset on the main board.
The two NanoServer® models provide as graphic interfaces, VGA, and for the NanoServer® E4-A, also a DVI interface. DVI can also be provided as an option for the NanoServer® E4-GM45. The wide range of connection capabilities cover up to six USB 2.0, audio, Gigabit LAN and Compact Flash. As option, an SSD (Solid State Drive), four COMs and WLAN are also supported. The screw-on base cover of the system allows direct access to the hard disk, Compact Flash socket, the memory expansion and the internal Mini PCI Express™ x1 slot.
As for all its products, DSM Computer also provides a two-year warranty for the NanoServer® E4 embedded systems and guarantees an availability of at least four years.
