Industry computer steers autonomous vehicle

The tough RAVON vehicle (Robust Autonomous Vehicle for Off-road Navigation) has successfully steered both off-road courses of the first European Land Robot Trial 2006 (ELROB).
The core of the intelligent robot is formed by the 96M1588 19-inch industry computer and the 96M4220o slot CPU card from DSM.
The industry computers, suited to tough environments, control the vehicle, for example direction, speed and route planning. In addition, they undertake evaluation of the numerous sensor systems built into the automobile and both stereo cameras. A WLAN card means that the RAVON functions can additionally be controlled by radio.
