What is PICMG 
The consortium's mission is to extend the PCI standard, as approved by the PCI Special Interest Group (PCI SIG), for computer systems such as passive backplane PCI/ISA, CompactPCI Eurocard form factor and PCI Express.
PICMG's purpose is to offer industrial equipment vendors common specifications, thereby increasing availability and reducing the costs of industrial PCI standard-based products. The PCI industrial specifications provide a clear upgrade path for OEM's wishing to use PCI technology.
Any interested individual or company can join PICMG. Suppliers and users of PCI-based industrial computer products are encouraged to join the PCI Industrial Computer Manufacturers Group. It is only through the active participation of representatives from a wide variety of industries that successful standards are developed, maintained, and expanded. DSM Computer GmbH is an executive member of PICMG and participates in the development and marketing of new industry specifications. |
